6' Samson

This is a 6' steel Samson mill on a steel tower.

Location:  SPWA Park

This mill came from a ranch in New Mexico. It was restored by Terry Schneider and the tower was restored by the SPWA personnel.

The mill was erected in memory of Orville Lathem who was a member of the SPWA and also a restorer of windmills. There was a dedication ceremony held on March 12th, 2006 honoring Orville at the windmill park just before the mill was raised. Several people attended this special ceremony.

The mill was donated by the SPWA, Hansford Retired Teachers and many of Orville's friends.
