This is an 8' John Deere open single back geared steel windmill on a wooden tower.
Location: Hansford

Very little is known about this windmill other than it came from Colorado. Evidently it had been used very little as it showed very little wear on the gears and other parts. The Southwestern Pioneer Windmill Association workers had quite a bit of a problem putting it together as they had no information on the mill. Some parts had to be fabricated during the assembly of the mill to make it complete.
